In New York on January market demand for Valencia onions is excellent with cargoes selling on arrival. Brokers quote firm prices at 4.50 per case 2.40 per half case and 1.50 per crate as the next steamer Bovie due February 1 is expected to bring about 1500 cases and the Celtic due February 5 about 1000 cases and 600 half cases.
