South Water Market Trust Completes Deal

Chicago plans to move the fruit and produce trade from South Water Street to a new market on Fifteenth Street and Fourteenth Place. The South Water Market Trust, with 150 members, will hold property until buyers pay. the project is valued at about 20 million dollars. The location is near key rail lines and central to the city’s population, with purchases totaling 300 parcels aided by community figures like Father Kennedy and Billy Colohan.

South Texas truck crops damaged by freeze

Freezing weather on November 25 hit South of Shore in South Texas, devastating tomato pepper and eggplant crops. About 50 or more cars of tomatoes were lost. spinach and carrots suffered lighter damage. The frost extended to Del Rio and pushed north toward the Lower Rio Grande Valley.
