Golf match ends unresolved between Eldredge and Wetz
In Chicago on Aug 6, C J Eldredge of Merrill and Eldredge notes a lighter frame and no bill yet for damage to Ravenswood Golf course after a tight championship contest with Jim Wetz. First nine were Wetz 75 Eldredge 86, seven holes in the consolation round ended at Wetz 71 Eldredge 59. Talks of resuming next winter in Florida. About 50 local golfers may hold after matches soon. A separate note from Balcom Illinois lists produce offerings for sale and a subscription payment.

Michigan grape crop prospects from Lawton district
Lawton Michigan August 3. The Lawton district remains a leading source of Concord grapes with high grower activity and an expanding shipment program. Last year Paw Paw Mattawan and several other towns contributed hundreds of carloads while express shipments added about 60 more cars. The industry relies on sorting for juice quality and strict inspection at receiving stations. If weather stays favorable, harvest could exceed last year with 300 to 1000 more cars. Shipping begins in early September using 8 pound baskets and jumbo 20 to 24 pound packs.
