Egg Crop Reports Indicate Big Output In Middle West

March cold and snow delayed output with overall poultry shipments about 16 percent below last season. Mt Olive and Hoopston report orde rshortfalls and weekly movements vary from 20 to 60 cases and 2 cars per week expected in April to May and June. Irving Nye and others show mixed results with home supply only and some weeks at 40 to 100 cases. Overall reports indicate many points shipping more heavily than last season despite ongoing shortfalls.

Shippers Report Heavy Egg Output Ahead

The Packer notes from midwest reporters that egg production across Illinois Indiana Iowa Michigan Wisconsin and Minnesota should rise this spring with April shipments around 100 to 400 cases weekly in many towns and totals up to 400–600 weekly in April May June.
