Democrats Name Theodore Oehne as City Treasurer Candidate

In Chicago Democratic circles a push for city treasurer is growing as John K. Traeger’s term ends next spring. Theodore Oehne, brewer and civic figure, leads a field of possible nominees along with Col. John G. Neumeister and Charles J. Vopicka among others. Judicial expansion and charter revisions also headline party maneuvering ahead of the April vote.

Boulevarding Proposals Move Through City Council

The council heard plans to boulevard Washington and La Salle streets linking north south and west Chicago. An Oak Park L elevate measure was sent for passage next Wednesday with strict deadlines and penalties. A separate ordinance requires front and rear lights on vehicles following a fatal auto collision.
