Confession of judgment pits fire-extinguisher firm into liquidation

The Tribune reports a $190 000 confession of judgment by the Consolidated Fire-Extinguisher Company to W N Frew of Pittsburg. The elder Frew funded about 400 000, later receiving 213 000, leaving 187 000 due plus 3 000 interest. Assets at No 9 South Desplaines street are levied. likely only 100 000 realized. The elder Frew was principal stockholder. Warner and Martin are noted as former executives. Sheriff’s inventory began yesterday with sale slated mid month. some expect the business to continue after the sale by another party.
