Romance Ends In Ontario Train Arrest of Youthful Pair

Special Dispatch reports Emma Simonson a 14 year old girl from Flint Michigan and Harry Claris a 17 year old boy eloped after boarding a Canada Southern train in Burraro. Emma wore male attire, obtained 30 dollars, and planned letters with Harry. They were captured in a boarding house on Beneca Street before continuing to St. Thomas Ontario. They will be returned to their parents for discipline.

Railroad land grant cases reach Circuit Court in Madison

The much talked of railroad land grant cases were argued before the United States Circuit Court in Madison yesterday. Judges Harlap and Buns presided. the matters were postponed to July 18 for Judge Drummond to join. The dispute concerns about 700,000 acres across West Wisconsin, North Wisconsin, and Madison & Potatoes, and the Wisconsin Farm-Morigo Land Company.

Gen Singleton’s stock sale at Quincy drew many visitors from Pike Brown Hancock and Fulton counties with notable Missouri and Iowa breeders present. Despite high hopes the bidding was cautious and prices for mares and stallions varied. Alderney cattle and stallions were withheld. Prices ranged with several mares and geldings selling modest sums and two cows sold to pure users at roughly listed figures.
