Steam tire engine trials followed with prizes of 350 200 and 100. Exhibits from St Louis New York and Chicago crews entertained as the self propeller of Chicago covered the mile in 2 58. George Geise of Chicago suffered a serious injury after a roof fall caused by a rotten board.
Judge Fisher of the U S circuit court in Kansas enjoins further prosecution of a Douglas county Kansas foreclosure suit by J Gould and others on the Kansas Pacific rail road. The petition to remove a receiver for the railway company is postponed to October in Washington before Justice Miller. Red Wing notes tell of the presidential party arriving and being greeted at the depot with a cordial reception.
