Corpus Christi, Sept. 27. Dr W E Wills found a nest of alligator eggs during a hunting trip and placed six under a hen named Biddy. The sedate barnyard fowl attempted to hatch one egg then fled the nest in panic, refusing to brood the reptile.
At a logging road trestle near Cochran Oregon a gasoline speed er carrying Frank J. Williams and Harry Lund and their family plunged off an 80 foot trestle. Williams and Lund died. Mrs Williams and three Williams children were injured with one child and Mrs Williams gravely ill. In California at Knights Landing a Southern Pacific crewman and a worker known as Harry died after a fall from a bridge with four others injured.
The Texas federal suffrage amendment raised debate on whether women could serve as jurors. District Judge Honey overruled an exception, holding that federal suffrage qualified women to sit on juries, as argued by the defense.

Mrs Henrietta Kelley known to jury for days will recount conversations she heard among Chicago American players Eddie Clootte Ray Schaik manager William Gleason John Collins and others who formerly boarded with her.
Dublin reports Archbishop Mannix visiting Cork mayor Terence MacSwiney in Brixton prison where he remains exhausted yet conscious. Mary MacSwiney says the mayor’s strength is failing as critics press for access. Mannix calls his condition a veritable miracle despite confinement.
Panic struck workers when a handcar was overtaken by a train inside a Union Pacific tunnel near Green River Wyoming. Yatuk Kishi, 44, tried to jump from the handcar to escape but was crushed to death while several other laborers leaped clear and survived.
AMOPOLAS Wyoming September reports Elizabeth Mord a member of a large national family died by suicide leaping from a 40 foot cliff into the Big Hot river after her Ford car rolled away, brakes failed and engine stopped. The surrounding scene noted wreckage and fragments recovered from the riverbed.
