Pardee Denounces Ballinger In Taft Letter Charge

Former Governor George C. Pardee returned from San Clements Island with Gifford Pinchot and told the Associated Press that Taft's letter exonerating Ballinger cites him as a critic of the interior department. He read a letter at the irrigation congress approved by Hallinger directing restoration of more than four million acres to entry, a move he says was among several similar orders approved by Ballinger.

Warren speeds to Taft in special train

Senator Warren left his party yesterday on a special train over the Union Pacific bound for Denver to meet President Taft. The train arrived at 4.28 and made an average speed of a wire a minute. Conductor Howell commanded the train with Engineer Roach at the throttle.

Minnesota Governor Johnson Dies After Illness

Rochester Minnesota September 21 Governor John A Johnson three term governor of Minnesota and Democratic nominee for president died at Parkview hospital after an operation last week. Mrs Johnson collapsed and was rushed to Sullivan hospital after his death. He was bedridden most of the night and muttered phrases as he neared the end.
