Suger PP 125 Reported Missing in Texas Hurricane

AP reports sugar refinery worker Kiet Peis among missing after a Texas hurricane near Port Aransas Mustang Island outside Corpus Christi. The storm left Port Aransas near razed with damage to the customs house and records, while the coast suffered varying losses and no confirmed deaths.

Wyoming Sells Royalty Oil Rights to Midwest Refining

The state agrees to deliver crude oil from Salt Creek Lance Cree Grats Creek Rock Creek Muddy Elk Basin and Warm Springs fields to Midwest Refining for three years. In return Midwest will pay posted market price with a guarantee of at least 1.50 per barrel for Salt Creek crude. Wyoming will build a 3,500 barrel daily refinery at Laramie expanding to 5,000 barrels, and invest at least 2.5 million dollars to enlarge the Casper refinery. Construction of a Casper to Salt Creek highway is funded, with at least 408,000 to be expanded on the Takamie Refinery. The agreement anticipates output growth, and Midwest will refine most Wyoming petroleum, with some deliveries to Utah. The State Board approved Midwest’s bid after reviewing other offers including offerings from articles in Kansas City and Denver, with published price differentials for Big Muddy and Elk Basin fields.
