Club and Church Events Highlight Social Engagements

Captain and Mrs. Pearson depart for the Presidio while Captain Heaton arrives from Fort Ethan Allen Vermont. A Kensington tea at Mee Dane Park featured pink lavender decorations, floral arrangements, and a musical program. Farewell party for Earl Daniels coincides with his birthday before departing to Taylor University. Fort Russell notes new arrivals and transfers including Dr O Connor and Dr John T. Reddy plus Captain Parker headed to Washington D C.

Visitors and Travels Around Cheyenne and Casper

Mrs Bryant B Brooks left Cheyenne en route from Denver to Casper. Mrs C L Beatty of Pine Bluffs was a Cheyenne visitor yesterday. Rev Ira Kingsley and three children departed to Sheridan via Laramie Medicine Bow and Casper after attending a Methodist conference in Laramie. Mrs Kingsley visited Bainum home during the trip. John Clearwaters left for Greencastle Indiana to enter college accompanied by his father, Rev Mr Clearwaters. Lawrence and Myre Bagge return from a wedding trip to occupy a new bungalow on East Twenty Second Street. Miss Willa Aebilling travels to Colorado Springs for a visit. Meyer Prank of Willim Myers Dry Goods returned from a trip to New York Atlantic City and plans an extended visit to Cheyenne.

Whittier and Alpha Club Meetings Report

The Whittier Club plans an afternoon session with Mrs. W A Woman and Mr. George Copeland at 1420 Honee Street. The Alpha club opened at the library with Mrs. Jamnen Lilly as president, selecting a yearlong study and delegates to federations. Chapter C P B K and P E O Sisterhood resumed fortnightly meetings with Mrs. Bert Gleason hosting, featuring brief talks by past presidents and social refreshments.

Missionary Open Meeting At Church Parlor Tonight

The Baptist Missionary society invites all church members to an open meeting this evening in the church parlors. An interesting program follows the business session, then a social hour and refreshments. A large attendance is hoped for.

Cheyenne W C T U Holds Meeting At Mrs Shingler Home

The Cheyenne W C T U gathered yesterday afternoon at Mrs J J Shingler’s home with strong attendance and broad committee work. Delegates were named for the State W C T A convention to be held in October in Laramie, including delegate at large Mrs A le Putnam and substitutes Mina Bertha Hobbs and Elisabeth Hawes with several others listed.

Reading and Social Evening at Local Club

Mrs Piper presented an article on Prohibition policy and the group enjoyed a program with songs by Misses Tyson Laughlin and Castenson. Refreshments were served by Mrs Snow, and guests were warmly welcomed to an evening of sociable visiting.

Ministers and Cowboys Move Up for Cheyenne Football Day

The Ministers and the Cowboys moved their October 29 game to a week earlier under a new contract with changes to other stipulations. The Denver Wyoming intercollegiate clash will be Cheyenne’s only game this season and the second varsity match in the city, following last year’s Cowboys versus Colorado School of Mines. BE. J. Gorham of Cheyenne spearheaded the arrangements for one major football day.

Maccabees Dance Tonight at K C Hall

A social dance event at K C Hall offers a $5.00 cash prize for the best entry. Admission includes music and a chance to enjoy a lively evening sponsored by the Maccabees. Ladies urged to attend and participate.

University Special Arrives Cheyenne For Sheridan Students

Nineteen young men and women from Sheridan and northern Wyoming arrived in Cheyenne this morning on the University Special bound for the University of Wyoming in Laramie. The free annual Pullman trip was provided by the university. The party spent two hours in Cheyenne. Among the travelers was Mrs. Morna Wood of Sundance, noted for representing her county in the state legislature last winter.
