Immigration Commissioner Schenck reports Wyoming’s 1912 production at about 71.75 million dollars, with per farm yields over three thousand and per capita production around 476 dollars. He notes more land under cultivation and crops widely above average, claiming one third more land in use than before.
A major blaze at Ocean Park Beach resort in Los Angeles destroyed 225 buildings in the concession and business district. Adjustors place losses at 2.2 million on buildings and 1 million on contents, with A. R. Fraser estimating total losses near 3.2 million. Fraser carried only 20 thousand in insurance.
In Salt Lake City on September 4, Jimmy Reagan of San Francisco defeated Tally Johnson of Butte in fourteen rounds.

Jacob H Sherley Jr of this city made a noon confession to Sheriff Schloo admitting he alone planned and carried out the murder and robbery of John Zabransky, the Brighton Bohemian jeweler, on Aug 17. He previously claimed Dodge and Mireovski were killers, but now retracts that. The confession was recorded with witnesses present.
Des Moines Sept 4 The Iowa Progressive convention nominated John L. Stevens of Boone for governor and declared the Progressive party is here to stay after fending off opposition.
Full report from White River Junction shows Fletcher, Republican, leading with about 26,299 votes while Howe trails with 20,050 and Metzger with around 15,800. Republicans gain a 62 seat majority in the Vermont legislature, as the state delivers its largest gubernatorial vote in presidential years since 1904. The Democrats harvest their highest statewide total since 1880, but the Republican margin narrows considerably from past norms.

He contrasts Democratic support with GOP rivals and third-party splits.

Encampment Herald reports Wilbur O Emerson of Los Angeles undertook a bold gyroscope assisted flight to San Francisco. His father, Col. Willis Geo Emerson, feared for his life as telegrams announced the venture and rapid progress across the state.
Cheyenne authority announces end of flat steam rates after hours of review. Northern Colorado Power president H A Wallace says meters will replace uniform charges, reducing revenue but removing unjust fees. All unmetered buildings will receive meters. charges will apply only for steam used.
