Camels Once Roamed North America In Miocene Era

Washington October 26 A geological official notes camels common in North America during the Miocene epoch. The Arikaree beds yield odd hoofed-toed animals with hornlike heads and long fore limbs. Secretary Lane proposes protecting fossil sites, leading to the Dinosaur National Monument in Utah.
