Overland Makes Splendid Record in Chicago Tests
A 1911 Overland sedan, tested by an independent Chicago firm under Chicago Automobile Club supervision, covered 24.2 miles per gallon on 68 grade gasoline. Fully loaded with four passengers it weighed 3,620 pounds. Acceleration from a standstill to 30 mph took 12 18 seconds, and it reached 42 mph from throttled high speed. On Hubbard’s Hill it climbed from rest to 18 mph at the hill’s crest, all on high speed.
