Casper Daily Tribune announces a major purchase of six new Chipee typesetting machines, quadrupling its current capacity and making it the largest such fleet among Wyoming newspapers. The paper says the investment will intensify its publishing push in Casper, the state capital, and "throwing very ounce of energy" into expanding operations.
In Washington on October 23 Secretary of Labor Wilson a miner by trade steadied a near break between miners and operators over the 500000 soft coal strike. Sheridan Wyoming October 23 John Skurzok is in custody on a complaint charging brutality to his 8 year old daughter Susie. It alleges he made the child cook and serve meals for four men plus himself and that when she refused labor he beat her with a leather belt. A petition seeks the child’s custody by the state commissioner of child and animal protection in district court.
The United States destroyer Aaron Ward carries the bodies of Lieutenant George H. Connolly and Frederick B. Waterhouse leaving Barnado in Paceretsault. The missing clarity of the dispatch notes the voyage toward the United States from Gallfor radloe te Ra today.
In Wheatland in October Charles A. Nunn was sentenced to three days in jail and a $50 fine for feeding meat from animals to hogs. The trial alleged he fed parts from a dead horse to the hogs and had prior warnings about similar violations.
May Street Jenkins, wife of kidnapped American Consular agent Oscar Jenkins, asks California leaders to urge the U S State Department to press the Mexican government to pay the ransom. She says Oscar was seized Sunday night by revolutionists from a Puebla home and is held in the mountains for cash. She cannot raise the demanded sum and appeals for swift action.
