Two Are Added 0 Murders by Bandit Lopez

In a battle underground at the Utah Apex mine Ralph Lopes the Mexican gunman reportedly added possibly two more names to his victims as deputies edged into the mine. Deputies Douglas Hulsey and Tom Mandrich fell and fate of their colleague Deputy Julien Sorenson was unknown after a solo pursuit begun November 21. The mine confrontation sparked fears of a race riot in Bingham as Austrian residents mourned Mandrich.

Young Outlaw Captured Here Tells of Thefts

Eugene Blacher fourteen year old was arrested at the Union Pacific depot on robbery charges. Detectives traced a twenty five dollar robbery of a brakeman at Sidney Nebraska and captured the boy as a suspect. He confessed to stealing the money and to other thefts. He came from Los Angeles and had traveled via Chicago toward California when arrested. Evidence included a gold watch claimed stolen in Mason City Iowa and a letter addressed to the Mason City man. He also had a revolver and fifty nine shells. He was sent to the Lumine boy detention home for probable place in a reform school.
