Mayor Connolly allows test of temper as troops may remain if mine reopens, while critics accuse mine owners of sealing bodies to dodge damages and hinder widows.
Eldorado Illinois November 26 reports two men trapped in the Horriburge and South Thwinks mine after an accident tonight. Rescue efforts are underway as authorities seek to determine the fate of the missing workers.
Seattle November 26 Horace C Heary banker and railroad builder testified in the Cunningham claims inquiry admitting he joined the claimants without knowing their proposal and signed affidavits without knowing contents He said he was too busy building railroads to pay the claims and that Cunningham handled the matters while he honored the checks he drew to secure a Behring River railroad right of way.
Bathe Maine November 26 The six masted schooner Wyoming will be launched December 14 from a local yard. It is the largest wooden vessel built in the United States and the largest sailing vessel by registry, with a gross tonnage of 8730 and overall length of 850 feet.

The appellate division of the supreme court has affirmed Justice Keogh's decision in the separation and alimony action brought by Mary B Tower wife of Albert E Tower the Iron King. The suit rests on cruelty and inhuman treatment. Mrs Tower formerly Mary Bogard a telephone operator, whom he wed soon after the death of his wife and son who were shot in their home seven years ago.
A mother and her daughter fought off Pike County officers at their doorway to protect two men fleeing from a feud between families. Both women were killed after firing on lawmen. the attackers died near Dave, Kentucky, while the two men escaped.
In Kansas City on November 26 Speaker Cannon denounced Cummins La Follette Bristow and progressives allied with Bryan for opposing the tariff bill. He praised Payne Tariff as best yet, warned insurgents hinder progress, and critiqued a local paper’s coverage while noting enduring party rules. Former Representative John Allen supported Cannon on rules though not all positions.
Hundreds of public men from Missouri and the United States joined Butler citizens to honor the memory of late Representative David A. Dearmond who died saving his grandson in a fire. The bodies were buried together after simple services.

A life saving boat from the steamer Argo overturned on Garibaldi beach Tillamook War area, resulting in the drowning of three passengers. The incident occurred after Argo struck the coast, drawing Navy aid to the scene.
Lamar Colorado November 26 Henry Starr the confessed bank robber of Amity Colorado back to July 1908 was sentenced to seven to twenty five years in the state penitentiary.

The report notes many players possibly dying and hundreds more sustaining injuries nationwide.
New York, Nov. 26. Friends of Mrs. O. P. Belmont and Dr. Charles Parkhurst engage in a public dispute over comments about Mrs Belmont in Parkhurst s sermon and a magazine piece. Parkhurst cites hostile remarks by a woman writer who warned she would shun men and social ties if she received the ballot.
