Wyoming Telephone Budget Boosts Statewide Improvements

The Mountain States Telephone company plans about a quarter of a million dollars in Wyoming for new switchboard stations toll offices and general equipment next year. Cheyenne will gain a repeater long distance lines Denver to Cheyenne Casper and further toll links while oil fields drive demand. Hopkins notes Cheyenne remains a key distributing point with substantial work in Salt Creek and northern Wyoming.

Sharper Cashes Bad Checks From Nonexistent Firm

A young man using the name Howard Hall passed as a worker from the McArthur Durkee Construction Co of Salt Lake City. He cashed three forged pay checks totaling 210 dollars at Cheyenne shops, then vanished. Victims Idelman Gross Bart McIlrath and Jake Hiteshew supplied limited descriptions. Police failed to locate him.

Large Stock Train From Montana and Idaho Here

The annual stock train of 37 ears from Montana and Idaho arrived in Cheyenne aboard nine cars, with sixteen men aboard. The cattle are described as top quality and high grade, worth strong prices at eastern markets. Crew includes Jas E Doyle, Lee Lewis of Montana and Curtis Arene of Idaho. After watering and feeding, they planned an early start toward Omaha and Chicago, with shipping privilege to Omaha if desired. They will tour packing houses in Omaha and Chicago to arrange next year’s shipments.
