Large Kansas coal miners strike called by district 14

Pittsburg Kansas November 10 A strike of nearly 1000 miners employed by the Chergiter and Pittsburg Coal and Mining company has been ordered by the executive board of the United Mine Workers of America district No 14. The action leaves the mines idle tonight as the district president Bernard Harrigan says the stoppage honors an employment agreement on a class of miners during certain hours.
