Gill elected mayor of Cheyenne in party sweep

Daniel W. Gill a Democrat won the Cheyenne mayoral race by a large margin over independent Henry Sweet with a slight lead over Republican I. Hinkle. Roach won the sheriff post defeating incumbent Frank Roach and others. Mentzer appears set to win the first judiciary district judge seat. Tupper and Fisher secured clerk and district court clerk posts respectively.

Mondell Republican incumbent holds 2,484 for Congress. Fahey Democrat 1,988. No Progressive senator candidate.

Thompson Elected County Attorney by Large Plurality

Samuel M. Thompson, a Democrat, won the county attorney post with the largest majority in the ticket. Thompson received 1,859 votes in the city to Walton's 1,491, while Walton carried the county outside Cheyenne with 472 against Thompson's 62. Thompson is among the city's best known young men and a son of General Thompaonie.

In Carbon county Taft leads 1012 to 881 with Mondell at 1128 and Beard 1087 as 25 of 40 precincts report. Republicans lead overall and outlying areas unlikely to change totals.
