Train wreck injures eighteen in Indiana near New Paris

Eighteen people were injured and one killed when a fast passenger train collided with a freight near New Paris on the Chicago Detroit line of the Wahash railroad. Engineer Elmer Stone stayed at his post. others were scraped up, and one seriously hurt. The wreck occurred after orders or a misplacement in shuttle runs. Stone's family lives in Montpelier, Ohio.

Twenty seven drowned as boat sinks in typhoon near Ca vite

Swabhington November 1. Twenty seven natives are reported drowned near Ca vite P. I. after a native boat capsized in a typhoon on October 24. Fourteen victims were employees of the United States yard there which suffered a property loss of 98000. Secretary Daniels was informed today by cable.
