Wheatland Man Dies at Camp Fremont

Elery Craft, a Platte county youth who enlisted for the service, died in Camp Fremont California on Monday night from influenza. His wife Mrs. Craft and his parents Mr. and Mrs. Palmer with their daughter left for Ottumwa Iowa to receive the body for burial. Mrs. Craft remained at his bedside while the body was prepared for shipment.
