In London on May 30 Harry G Wan tee told the Evening Hobe that American press coverage of his speech was mistaken. He said he did not criticize American efforts and that comparing the two flights is impossible. He praised American organization and wished them luck.

Lame duck NC seaplane ends Lisbon Plymouth voyage

Engine trouble kept Trepassy from completing the Lisbon to Plymouth voyage as the NC squadron’s history-making trip faltered. After 100 miles of the final leg the seaplane descended on the Mondego river and could not reach England. Lieut Commander A C Read repaired engines and moved 225 miles to Ferrol Spain to resume at first light if weather allows.

Thed theft of registered mail arrests man in street chase

Ralph McNeil, 24, was arrested after a registered mail theft from a mail wagon near the station. George Nachtman, Omaha mail clerk, reported the loss of receipts and government papers. Police seized McNeil as he walked away with the grip, suggesting an accomplice may have handled missing items.
