An investigation by the U S Department of Labor reports that in Baltimore more than 500 workers were interviewed and three quarters had changed occupations more than once. Seventeen percent had changed four or more times, with one man trying thirty different kinds of gainful employment since leaving school. The findings support industrial training through company training departments as a means to immediate value and higher wages, benefiting both poor and ambitious workers.
