Largest torpedo boat destroyers planned for Navy
Washington May 27 The largest torpedo boat destroyers yet designed for the Navy are provided for in plans for six new vessels approved by the Secretary of the Navy Specifications and advert cuts will be issued about June 1 and bids opened August 4 The destroyers will be 100 feet long with a displacement of 1090 tons and will feature greater radius of action at high speed and enhanced offensive powers.
