Cheyenne citizens from many walks of life favor a commission government to replace the old system. They believe it would improve city administration, reduce partisanship, and place three commissioners in charge of departments, with initiative and recall features seen as safeguards.

Gold Piece Replaces Part of Skull of Boy

Friday in Carpenter Herman Brady six years old was struck by a horse causing a fractured skull. A ten dollar gold piece was beaten into a thin plate and riveted to the skull to substitute missing bone. The boy recovered consciousness after surgery at St Johns Cheyenne with doctors predicting a good recovery.

Grandstand collapse at Empire Day festival kills thirty three

At the Birth Empire Day celebration in Brth City a double deck grandstand gave way sending hundreds tumbling to the sand below. Thirty three people, mostly women, died and many were injured or paralyzed. Victims were of British origin living in Southern California. Dead were laid in the national guard armory and injured were sent to city hospitals and Los Angeles hospitals.

McCarty Dead After Calgary Prize Fight

Luther McCarty failed to rise after a ten round bout with Arthur Pelkey in Calgary. Referee Hd Smith counted him out and McCarty died eight minutes later from a blow near the solar plexus, with Pelkey charged with manslaughter but released on bail.
