Works 5 Hours Rested on a Tie Then Died on the Job
Mack Brushnak an Austrian laborer working on the Union Pacific right of way at Otto died after five hours' work and a rest on a railroad tie. He toppled backward while seated, dying before help arrived. He had recently arrived from Denver and leaves a wife and children on Eighteenth Street.
