Hundred Percentrs Propose Anti-Leasing Ordinance To City

The Hundred Percent American club presented a draft anti vagrancy ordinance to the city council. It would require unemployed residents to work or be arrested for vagrancy, with council expected to consider the motion next Monday.

Registration Date Definitely Fixed by Proclamation

President Wilson issued a proclamation setting June 5 1918 as the registration date for all American males turning 21 under the selective draft act. The act will apply to those who have come of age since June last year with medical and divinity student exceptions. Officials say about 60 000 men fit for active service will be available, and registrations will be held more frequently, likely quarterly, to gather men quickly.
