A cigar shaped airship was seen grounding on Caerphilly mountain around midnight. A watcher described two men forming a crew before they fled, as reports mention torn ground and French aeronautics papers nearby.
Spreckels son declares he will split things open in a suit to set aside his father’s will citing alleged bad faith by two brothers named as heirs to 840000000. John F. Wood claimed insanity to dodge trial for killing his niece. He appeared in court with bizarre attire and mumbled as evidence of insanity grew. alienists later found he feigned madness and he will be tried tomorrow.

Maefield West Virginia May 20 John Thompson a white 19 year old yesterday confessed to authorities at Welch that on September 14 1908 he outraged and killed Lulu Stafford a 10 year old whose body was found in a clump of bushes in the McDowell County courthouse yard on September 17 Rewards offered and the patrols later failed to locate the killer. He allegedly confessed to his brother months earlier.

At Mohonk Lake J Allen Baker M P warned about Great Britain's dreadnought program and urged President Taft to take the initiative. He said Britain Germany and the US can stop the current arms race while 64 chambers of commerce in the US and Canada adopt a resolution urging Taft to push concurrent reductions of armies and navies.
Chicago May 20. Mashers are to be banished from State Street as shop girls organize a mashers association. Chief Skippy approves a mashers squad for State Street and the Loop to prevent ogling by clerks and workers. Officers report arrests already made as part of the effort to curb the nuisance.
