Burlington through trains tie Cheyenne to Casper routes

Burlington announces June 4 service with new through trains linking Omaha to Central Wyoming via Alliance Wendover and Denver Cheyenne Casper Douglas. Additional connections join Denver North Platte Valley northeastern Wyoming with Wendover and Bridgeport Morrill lines. Train 31 through Denver Cheyenne to Douglas Casper and a Wendover connection create through morning and noon services.

Mohler resigns as UP president. Jeffers touted as successor

A. L. Mohler resigns the UP and Oregon Short Line presidency effective July 1 but will stay on in advisory roles. W. M. Jeffers, the UP general superintendent, is favored to succeed him, with Charles Ware also mentioned. Mohler’s career began in 1868 and spanned leadership across the Hill system, Oregon Railroad and Navigation, and Portland steamship interests.

Peace Commission Named By Baptists

The Northern Baptist Convention established a commission to act as a court of inquiry to adjudicate differences among affiliated societies and to foster cooperation among Baptist groups nationwide.
