Four Cheyenne Men Held for Trial on Federal Sugar Hoard
Four Cheyenne men were arraigned in federal court on charges under the Lever Act for hoarding 17 500 pounds of sugar said to be sold to Morris Rubin of Denver. The sugar was seized May 5 by the U S marshal. George Kiskaras Nick Christopolos Theodore Anderson and Andrew Fotopolos faced counts of procuring or securing sugar with bonds set at 500 to 8500. all pleaded not guilty and remained in custody. The sugar was stored in Cheyenne and seized before shipment to Denver where Rubin allegedly borrowed money against the warehouse receipt.
