Mediators plan Niagara Falls meeting for Mexican talks

Secretary Bryan announced that three South American mediators will meet May 18 at Niagara Falls Canada to receive representatives of the parties to the Mexican controversy. They stated the talks will cover the whole Mexican situation and Carranza may rejoin later.

Wilson to honor Vera Cruz dead with memorial services

President Wilson will lead memorial services at the Brooklyn Navy Yard for Marines and bluejackets who died in Vera Cruz. Secretary Daniels and War Secretary Garrison with Admiral Drey will attend. Mayflower and Montana will escort funeral ships to New York Harbor.

BOOLHS West Virginia May 5 The body of Freeman Lineville an insurance agent from Charleston was recovered from Mine No 5 after the explosion last Tuesday which claimed 172 lives. More bodies were brought up overnight and officials expect the mine to be cleared by nightfall.

Wyoming to distribute four million trout to counties

State Fish Commissioner John J. Lenihan announced four million young fish are ready for distribution from Wyomings hatcheries. Half come from the Laramie hatchery and half from Storey near Sheridan. Speed er accident injures FH Smith near Borie

F H Smith assistant superintendent of the Wyoming division was hurt when a speeder jumped the track one mile east of Borie. He and J W Highleyman were thrown from the vehicle. Smith was unconscious with facial and thigh burns a broken ankle while Highleyman was not injured. They were transported to Cheyenne then to St John’s hospital to be treated.

Adrift Forty Hours as Survivors Rescued from Columbian

Thirteen survivors of the British steamer Columbian, en route from Antwerp to New York, were rescued by the Cunard liner Franconia after a fire forced abandonment 300 miles south of Cape Race. Chief Steward Matthews' body was found in the lifeboat with survivors recalling a brutal 49 hours at sea.

Women of Green River Organize Democratic Club

A women’s Democratic club is to be formed in Green River after eight local Democratic women held a committee meeting last Friday. Committees were appointed to arrange the organization, with a meeting planned at the Carnegie Library tomorrow. Mrs. T. S.
