Chian Young Men Promote New National Guard Company

Hanged Man Heirs Ordered to Pay Fine in Rawlins Case

The Jenkins estate administrator Dr. C Beard seeks to overturn a ruling that the estate must bear a $1000 fine plus costs, totaling $8299.20, while offering to pay $728.20. Jenkins was convicted of killing his wife in 1912 and hanged in Rawlins.

Complainant in forgery case jailed after arrest

M. M. Knight was arrested on a forgery charge pressed by Carl Muelhausen and Sy Welsnend of county jail. He was incarcerated during related federal secret service informations concerning high grading. Knight allegedly stole a $100 paycheck from L. E. Esmey and was asked to sign it. handwriting experts say the signature on the back differs greatly from the police-found specimen.

National service reserve plans presented to defense council

Plans for a national service reserve comprising non draftable men and women were submitted to the Council of National Defense. George Wharton Pepper announced the plan, a nine member board would oversee operations with Taft Goethals and Stimson named to serve.

British Take Fresnoy and Surrounding Front Areas

British forces resume large scale fighting along the front, seizing Fresnoy village north of the Scrape river and Cherisy ground. They penetrated Hindenburg line near Fontaine les Croisilles to Bullecourt, while a new emergency trench system from St. Quentin to Drocourt is being built.

Health officer for Cheyenne assured for full time post

Cheyenne officials near completing a plan to appoint a full time health officer. Dr. R E Wynne, a federal health expert, met with city commissioners yesterday and gained strong support for formal arrangements.
