Army man comes from Washington to get his bride

Mrs Arthur Parker wed by Rev 5 A Houston in small ceremony among friends. Miss Lala Mahoney of Canyon Idaho and John Frazier ranchman of Basin also married yesterday with Rev George Van Winkle in attendance. Firemen Quicken Response and Extinguish Blaze Quickly

Firemen ran two blocks in 90 seconds and entered the burning building before the big ladder truck arrived. A line of hose was laid out and the fire was put out as the alarm rang. Also noted, the United States recognized the new Russian government, with Petrograd reporting U S recognition on March 22.

American Soldier Fatally Shoots Suspect at Fort Sheridan

In Panama on March 22 an American soldier at Fort Sheridan shot and killed a Negro canal employee who resisted arrest. Officials report this is the second such incident this week as labor troubles are believed to influence the belligerent mood among Negro workers.

Healdton Sunk by Torpedo In Atlantic March 22

The American tanker Healdton was torpedoed without warning off the European coast. The ship was 4400 tons, owned by Standard Oil of New Jersey, built in 1905, with a crew of 38. A boat with seven crew members reached Terschelling. Eight American citizens among the crew were reported by Standard Oil officials.

Thirteen of Healdron’s Crew Reach Ymaide

Thirteen crew members of the Healdron arrived at Ymaide in Holland reporting the steamer was sunk without warning in a safe zone. They believe nineteen men aboard were lost while the vessel, unarmed, had sailed before guns were allowed for merchant ships.
