Harris Woody Arrested on Murder Charge in Rock River

Harris Woody was taken into custody in Rock River in the afternoon and will be charged with the killing of a Mexican man whose name could not be learned. Sheriff Jackson went to Rock River to secure the prisoner with Coroner Jokhasom present.

Freight Train I8 Held Up and Merchandise Stolen

Robbers stopped a westbound New York Central fast freight train at Atholl Springs New York using shotguns to drive off the crew. They looted a large quantity of merchandise before authorities arrived, aided by a block signal that halted the train. Deputy sheriffs were summoned immediately.
