London reports twenty five passengers drowned when the Peninsula and Oriental liner Oceania collided with the German bark Pisagua off Eastbourne. Lifeboats capsized and women dominated the stranded, with officers and crew enforcing order as the Oceania sank five hours after the crash.
Chicago police seek Tigh Jay a tramp accused of stealing Charles W Waterhouse over coat and trousers and abducting Waterhouse wife and four children. Waterhouse, a teamster on Jefferson avenue, says Jay lived as a house pet after being fed and given shelter, and the wife plus child Gertrude vanished on Sunday. Waterhouse returned to find the other children gone and his coat missing, suspecting Jay’s involvement.
From Nanking March 16 United States minister Calhoun in Pe king telegraphed Rear Admiral Murdock commander of the Asiatic Fleet that the situation had greatly improved and it will be unnecessary to longer keep the cruiser Cincinnati at Tien Tain.

Lincoln Neb March 16 officers traced three convicts sought for murdering the warden deputy and cell keeper to a milk wagon theft near College View. They forced a mother and boy to shelter them and later used the wagon to reach town, leaving a false story through a frightened youth. The boy led officers to the scene after the wagon stuck in a snow drift.
Washington March 16 The Navy department ordered three large armored cruisers to proceed at once to the Philippines for an indefinite stay The ships Californias South Dakota and Colorado now at Honolulu are attached to the Pacific fleet and in tow of Chinese waters.
Mr. Alex Hastie editor of the Leader left Cheyenne for Carlide, Lowe upon news of his mother's death. The signal came as a sorrowful spring, though Mrs Hastie had been frail. More information about the beloved mother of one of the boatmen will appear in the Leader Tuesday.
Washington March 16 Roosevelt forces announce plans to contest Taft delegates at the Chicago convention. Senator Dixon claims Roosevelt would win about 44 delegates, Taft 14, challenging 84 Taft delegates from southern states. Taft campaign director McKinley releases a rival tally disputing numbers and naming districts under contest.
A bomb sent by mail exploded in the apartment of Judge Otto Rosalsky of the General Sessions court in New York tonight. Owen Bean, chief of the fire department combustibles bureau, was seriously injured and his hand injured. the judge remained unharmed. The package was typewritten and addressed to the judge. The blast occurred as the judge was handling the Folly-Brandt gas case he had sentenced to thirty years.
Report claims Gen. Villa was captured near Gomez Palacia and executed by Gen. Orexco. Both leaders were longtime foes of the Madero era and foreigners began leaving the La Gous region as Villa allegedly offered to aid the liberal movement.
