United States army officers detailed the death of a Papago Indian found tied to a wild horse. Investigators traced the horse to a desert stump where the victim was bound and the horse released after a struggle. Four men led the donkey carrying the condemned man, and five Papago camp residents were arrested amid beliefs the man was executed for witchcraft.

The issue featured a cartoon spoofing Rev Lyman Abbott and Eva Tanguay in Bacchanalian scene with implied indecency, prompting preachers’ intervention and high priced copies last sold for up to 15 dollars.
Seattle March 10 Clarence D Hillman a millionaire townsite promoter was found guilty on thirteen felony counts for using mail to defraud by a jury after twenty four hours deliberation The maximum penalty on each count is five years and a $5000 fine His attorney gave notice of appeal and Hillmans bond was raised from 30000 to 100000.

Ernest O Grady and Jack Butler were held for trial in bonds totaling 28600 for attempting to blow up the Homestake cyanide mill last April. O Grady was brought back from Chicago and Butler, a musician in the Fourth Cavalry, was arrested as troops were leaving for the boner.
