Potomac crew details arrive after ship abandonment

Bootwain Michael J. Wilkingon in command and 29 bluejackets of the United States Potomac, abandoned near Boone Bay N F on February 14, arrived in Boston by train. They report no engineer or fire crew aboard, say food held out, and describe a 50 mile gas hike to Curling Newfoundland after sighting a lighthouse and departing February 14. Federal Industrial Relations Commission to probe all industries

The Federal Industrial Relations Commission will conduct a sweeping inquiry into nearly all aspects of the nation’s industrial scene seeking recommendations for Congress. Chairman Frank P Walsh said public hearings will begin likely in late March in major industrial centers with input from employers unions workers and the public.
