Tutt died in 1906.

Cost of living climbs in New York study

Washington March 6 The New York Association for Improving the Condition of the Poor found a ~25 percent rise in prices for ordinary household goods over one year. A sample grocery bill shows increases in bread butter tea coffee sugar eggs tomatoes potatoes corn codfish oatmeal beans rice onions cabbage cheese and canned salmon. Retailers report higher costs across most items, with wholesale up at least ten percent and some staples nearly doubling. The report says the trend applies nationwide beyond New York City.

Wabash Derailment Near Lebanon Kills Five

Five were killed and sixty injured when the Continental Limited derailed on the Wabash near Redwood bridge two miles west of Lebanon Indiana. Cars left the rails some toppled into a creek. wrecking and relief trains rushed to the scene as fires were lit along the tracks.

Two Killed in Colorado Snow Slides near Marshall Basin

Telluride Colorado March 7 Edwin Thomas is believed dead after Gimarron and Seventy-Six snowslides roared through Marshall basin at 8 40 this morning. The slides swept three Smuggler Union Mining company houses, burying Edwin Thomas and leaving Mrs Thomas unhurt beneath snow. Sixty Smuggler Union men rushed to the scene to rescue survivors including Mrs Frank Galla and three children, Mrs Tony Andriatti and two children.

William Rucker Murdered in Cheyenne. Wife Accused

In Cheyenne early this morning at 1:30 William Rucker private Ninth Cavalry was stabbed to death at his wife’s home on Went 24th. Mrs Rucker was detained and gave vague explanations claiming to know nothing of the crime. She said she went downtown to find her husband after his pay and possible drinking. The victim was found on the porch with bloodied clothes, stabbed to the left side. Mrs Rucker remained in custody as authorities investigated.

Treaties Up In Air After Senate Ratification Debate

Fire Claims Three Lives In Manhattan Home

A Manhattan home burned today while Mrs. G. H. Worden visited a neighbor. Her daughter Gladys, three, died in the blaze and May, five, inhaled smoke and flames and is in dangerous condition.
