Richard S. Gunnoude aged 44 dies at 7:30 p.m. at home 2415 East Nineteenth Street. Survived by widow, two sons Richard 9 and John 16, daughter Margaret 16, and parents Mr. and Mrs. Pat Gunnoude of Council Bluffs. He worked for the Tinian Pacific and lived in Cheyenne 46 years. He belonged to W. Q. W. and Knights and Ladies of Security. Body at Barrys Bricker Brothers mortuary. Funeral arrangements to be announced.
Westerville Ohio March 6 The Anti Saloon league urges purchase by the federal government of all liquor stocks in bond in a statement from the league's national headquarters. Ernest H. Sherrington secretary of the league's executive committee announced the plan.
Secretary Daniels outlined three provisional naval construction plans tied to the peace treaty and League of Nations vote. He warned that joining the League or rejecting the treaty would shape the 69 ship program and may require adjustments to prevent U S naval decline.
LAW CHICAGO March 6 An embargo on all express shipments except newspapers and funeral equipment was issued by the American Railroad Express company after a strike by insurgent railroad express clerks demanding a $35 monthly wage rise. Led by 4 B Sheppherd head chairman of the Chicago and Western Lakes division of the Brotherhood of Railroad Clerks the walkout drew over 2000 workers. District Attorney Cline began an investigation to see if the strike violated the new transportation act and promised a test under the act if evidence warranted.
Mayor Ed P Taylor received a letter from the National Security League asking cooperation to organize a Cheyenne branch. The program calls for higher teacher pay, improved school facilities, speakers against Bolshevism, Americanism in schools, women's civic involvement, and support for universal military training and a national budget.
Viola May Rutledge of Pine Bluffs files for divorce from Frank P. Rutledge charging drunkenness and abuse during fits of anger. She says he borrowed money to live while they lacked food and funds and that she supported herself working in her father and Melvin Warner's restaurants. He denies the allegations and accuses her of infidelity naming Warner as the correspondent.
The funeral of Mrs. Anna Wilson, colored, was held yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Marty Bricker Brothers' chapel. The Rev. Mr. Endicott officiated. Interment was in Lakeview cemetery.
The mercury dropped to 44 degrees below zero before stopping its fall yesterday morning with a low at 6 20 a m. The day’s high reached 4 degrees at 4 p m. An inch of snow covered the area in the 24 hour period ending at 6 p m last night.
Rev Ethelbert Talbot bishop of Bethlehem Pa urged merging the twenty two leading evangelical denominations in America to end costly rivalry. The plan discussed at the Inter Church Council on Organic Union in Philadelphia titled The United Churches of Christ in America would unify associated churches under one umbrella.
John Kelly, claimed to be the shortest man in Illinois at 44 inches tall and 150 pounds, died of apoplexy in Macomb on March 6. The 50-year-old was known for backward mobility due to double jointed legs and once used a ladder while harnessing horses.
G. Foster Garlock, chief clerk of the railway mail service, was relieved from duty after serving two and a half years. He had requested retirement earlier and may pursue private business. Hugh Coffman will act as chief clerk until a successor is chosen.
Mrs Lauraine Clark of Los Angeles dies at a local hospital from pneumonia yesterday at 8 pm. The body rests at Wharly-Brieker Brothers funeral parlors awaiting funeral arrangements.
Alvo von Alvensleben, a German financier once active in the Pacific northwest mining and timber sectors, and interned at Fort Douglas since May 1917, received conditional parole in Salt Lake City on March 6. He plans to move to Seattle to gather remaining fortune and is not required to return to Germany. He served as a World War I German lieutenant and was accused of anti Canada activities.
Cheyenne high school defeated University High 16 to 14 in Laramie as they led 6 to 0 at halftime. Wyoming's basketball team beat Colorado University 85 to 41 in the same city.
A Denver YMCA meeting launched a back to Africa campaign with Leslie Hubbard named chairman of a white advisory committee to the Negro organization. The African Colonization company headed by J N Walker says Liberia has granted land for colonization and plans to settle American Negroes in Liberia with each receiving a free land plot.
In Fort Russell a Cheyenne high school alumni team lost 34 to 22 to the Fifteenth Cavalry. Star performer Clyde Warper, ex Notre Dame, scored 20 of the cavalry’s 84 points while Ralph Argue led the alumni with strong play.
Only six Wyoming former service men were prize-winners in the government land lottery held at Torrington. The list shows J. J. Mason Lingle C B Wilson Guernsey James Fitzpatrick Guernsey George W Earle Lusk Warl Montgomery Torrington and Lewis Payelle Laramie among those selected for 80 farm units.
Washington March 5 Ignacio Calderon Bolivian ambassador said reports from South America indicating an imminent break of relations between Peru and Bolivia over the Eric a dispute were likely caused by popular excitement in both nations due to recent exchanges between Peru and Bolivia.
The James Vass ranch in Albany county was sold to John L. Manewal A. B. McNabb Meyer Schwartz and Harry Schwartz all of Cheyenne through the Frank Land company of this city.

The potato car lectures moved indoors to the car itself while lunch was hosted by the Y W C A cafe teria and the Chamber of Commerce. Marl Reed and J B Lamson led the event with county agents coordinating in each county as the car moved on to Chugwater Wheatland and beyond into Nebraska.
In a letter to Daniel C. Roper President Weld expresses great regret at the resignation of the internal revenue commissioner. Roper says he leaves to return to private life and pursue personal plans after many years of service.

Washington March 6 Senator King introduced a resolution urging restoration of Armenia's political independence. The measure calls for Armenia to regain sovereign status and self governance amid ongoing regional turmoil.
Washington reports a White House setback as opponents of ratification vow to end the Senate debate Monday. Officials say Democrats are advised to address Senator Lodge rather than the president for any compromise. A conference with Senator Simmons was not clearly revealed, but further inquiries are seen as doubtful.
Major A. D. Smith completed a long flight from Camp Lewis Washington to Rockwell field San Diego California in a DeHaviland aircraft. He covered about 1150 miles crossing two mountain ranges with stops at Red Bluffs San Francisco and Bakersfield before landing at 8 58 p m local time.

Albert Engelker and Miss Osa Hazel Cater of Diamond were married by Judge Frank Housman at noon yesterday in the new city county building. They plan to live on the bridegroom’s ranch near Diamond. Mr and Mrs L H Caster attended and saw their daughter wed in Cheyenne.
