In Watts California March 6 a jury of 12 women freed principal W W Coats of Watts schools on a riding bicycle on the sidewalk charge. A juror left to nurse her child and did not return prompting a replacement. Coats was fined 3 dollars with a three day jail option after the jury asked for mercy.

Tuesday Roundup Day Set by Industrial Club members

Welcome Arch Proposal Considered for Cheyenne Frontier Days

The Industrial club weighs a 10 by 52 foot welcome arch with 25 foot clear span and 27 foot arched space. Stanley J. Krebs spearheads the idea with George Walker inviting bids from two firms. Arch would feature illuminated emblems and a Cheyenne Welcome glow atop globe pillars at an estimated cost of 62 500 with about 1400 lights.

Kellys Army Routed by Police Rifles

General Kellys 2000 strong band of unemployed men began a march from San Francisco toward Washington. In Oakland they were routed by 250 policemen armed with rifles. The group was put on street cars to Richmond where riots broke out and several Wing Leaders were arrested.
