In Platte county Wyoming a 70 plus year old man G. J. Tarbox faced trial before Judge Mentzer for the murder of George Uarker. The jury found Tarbox guilty of murder in the first degree but did not set a capital punishment. Tarbox claimed insanity due to intestinal inactivity and testified that a fear of an Indian man with an axe led him to act. An expert witness did not testify to insanity from inactivity.

Only Daughter of Stephen Ben Dies from influenza

Misa Mildred Ben, 22, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Ben, died from Spanish influenza after a relapse following the legislature closing session. Born in Cheyenne, she was a beloved young woman with many friends. Survived by her parents and two brothers, Kendall Bon of Cheyenne and Ceol Hon of Casper. About four inches of wet snow have fallen soaking the ground, pleasing farmers worried by dry conditions. The snowfall is general over Laramie county and extends into parts of Colorado and Nebraska.

Mrs John Benson of Cheyenne received a message that her brother Robert Hints formerly of Cheyenne has died in France from pneumonia. He served with the 91st division and enlisted at Pocatello Idaho. He was 28 years old and left a widow. He moved to Pocatello twelve years ago from Cheyenne. Relatives in Cheyenne include Mrs Henry Powall and Mrs Frank Farrell.
