Daring rustler Clarence Cunningham jailed for grand larceny
Clarence Cunningham pleaded guilty before Judge W. C. Mentier and was sentenced to seven to ten years in the Rawlins penitentiary. Sheriff Hayes and Charles Irwin arrested him on February 14 at the William Jones ranch. He led a Wyoming Nebraska Colorado horse theft ring for two years and was taken wearing a revolver with his horse saddled nearby. The case marks the heaviest grand larceny sentence Mentier has handed down. The sheriff has ten days to transport him to the institution. Continued on Page Five.

One hundred sixty men and fifteen officers from Battery B and part of Battery C of the Colorado National Guard arrived in Cheyenne at 9 o'clock last night on an eighteen car train. They halted in Denver for four hours where Mayor Speer and city officials honored them with medals and a royal banquet. They will be mustered out next week by Col. James and Capt. L. R. James, with equipment turned over to federal authorities. The welcome plans include ceremonies for Wyoming troops expected soon.

Spaugh owns 6400 acres in the Big Muddy Glenrock and Cole Creek fields plus thousands more acres in Converse and Natrona counties to be transferred to the firm.
