I C C Finds Milwaukee Grain Rates Not Discriminatory
The Inter state Commerce Commission ruled June 25 that grain freight rates from Minnesota North Dakota South Dakota and Northern Iowa through Duluth Superior and Milwaukee to the Atlantic seaboard by lake and rail were not discriminatory compared with Chicago. It held that rates from Dakota south points on the Chicago Milwaukee and St Paul line from Cantonio and Elk Point were unjustly discriminatory against Omaha and preferential to Minneapolis. Rates to Omaha must be at least 1 1/2 cents lower than those to Minneapolis by September 1. The Omaha grain exchange filed the complaint.
