Two Babies Bitten Run Down in Rabies Outbreak

A mad dog attack infected four people in Carpenter and nearby. The three year old daughter of E G Underwood develops a severe rabies case after two weeks of bite exposure. Miss Reta Emer of Carpenter improves after bite. A four year old girl of Mr Johnson is also bitten and treated. Miss Ferns, who helped treat Miss Emer, is infected and receives urgent care.

Taft Wins Credentials Votes At Republican Convention

Chicago June 21 The Taft forces display control in credentials votes at the Republican convention. Majorities ranged from 605 to 404 in one roll call and 642 to 620 in another over California districts. Roosevelt delegates were defeated in all fights. The session adjourned after settling most California and Georgia contests, with Texas and Washington still pending.
