Homeward bound 448th Field Artillery returns from Germany

The 448th Field Artillery, largely Wyoming and Colorado guardsmen, sailed home in June 1947 via the Floridian and Peerless. Commanded by Col Burke H. Sinclair, the unit helped halt the German Marne advance at Chateau Thierry and played a key role at the Marne bridges. Demobilization will occur at Fort Russell in Cheyenne with a welcome planned for Wyoming.

Two Men Injured in Cheyenne- Denver Highway Crash

One victim, John Rudiger of Long Beach California, is severely injured with facial and skull fractures after a water-road hazard caused a tire blowout and rollover.
