Axel K Sandell 47 was instantly killed at 7 45 this morning in the shaft of the Topeks mine in Ryaxel gulch south of Central Colorado The contractor supposed to finish work at 7 o clock had not cleaned up the shaft when the go devil dropped 154 feet striking Sandell in the face The two other men Pred Ballard and Nele Olson escaped uninjured
