Washington reports that government control of telegraph and telephone properties will end at midnight tomorrow as Postmaster General Burleson issues orders to return them to private ownership under a congressional resolution signed by President Wilson ten days earlier. Paris July 360 Premier Clemenceau as head of the peace conference sent a letter to the German peace delegation protesting Germany’s plan to sell national property in Schleswig where plebiscites will decide union with Denmark. The note warns these properties are security for the German Indemnity and the conference would hold Germany responsible for sale proceeds.
Representative Kahn of California introduced a bill directing the postmaster general to establish and operate air mail service between New York and San Francisco. The measure aims to connect the two cities by air, expanding mail delivery options across the country.

Dr George B White of the American Committee for Relief in the Near East cites reports alleging Turkish officials decimated Greek communities on the Black Sea coast by parboiling victims and forcing them to die of pneumonia in winter. He dates the worst crimes to 1914-16 with deportations and horrific treatment in bath houses, leaving thousands dead or orphaned.
