Casper Horse Sale Opens In Casper With Heavy Attendance

Casper Wyoming July 29 Early yesterday hundreds of pastured horses were moved to rock yards for inspection and sale. By mid morning 200 animals had entered and a large sale was underway with about 600 horses expected before the event ends. Colonel Pullium of Grand Island Nebraska directed the sale as bids opened. Asking prices ranged from five to one hundred ninety five dollars per horse.

Ossining N Y July 29 Former Potion Lieutenant Charles Becker who was twice convicted in the Rosenthal murder case learned his wife’s bid to move Governor Whitman for a reprieve failed at a conference in Poughkeepsie. Becker issued a letter denying charges and asserting his innocence as he faced execution after a day in the prison shop and plans for the death wall.
